People love movies like The Pursuit of Happyness, Rudy, Rocky, Unbroken, and Erin Brockovich. We’re inspired by quotes like:
“Fall seven times, stand up eight.”
“Hard times don’t create heroes. It is during the hard times when the ‘hero’ within us is revealed.”
But when life actually gets hard, the glory of those stories often fades.
When we’re frustrated that life doesn’t look the way we want, we have to check ourselves. Sometimes our drive and ambition quietly turn into entitlement—like the world owes us a certain result.
That doesn’t mean we stop fighting for change. It means we stay grounded in awareness.
It means staying focused on the long game—even when everything hurts right now.
I’ve failed. I’ve struggled. I’ve had to remind myself: This is part of the process.
The pain, the doubt, the pressure—that’s where growth begins.
Find ways to smile, even when it sucks.
Keep moving forward, even with no guarantees.
Gratitude helps. And community matters.
