We spend a huge chunk of our lives at work. For many of us in technology, that means hours glued to a chair, plugged into a docking station, eyes locked on a screen. After decades in the "Chair Force," I learned that staying physically active in cyber is a challenge.
The workplace environment influences our health in more ways than we realize. Is your breakroom stocked with sugary treats? Do you have coworkers who encourage movement, or is it all back-to-back meetings and deadlines? Stress, long hours, bad posture, and lack of sunlight—it all adds up over time.
But here’s the thing: small changes can lead to big results.
Take routine movement breaks—squats, push-ups, or even a quick walk around the office.
Use lunchtime wisely—step outside for fresh air, even for 10 minutes.
Choose healthier options when grabbing lunch with coworkers.
Improve your workspace—a standing desk, better posture, and occasional stretching can make a difference.
We often say we don’t have time, but in reality, we need to make time for our health. What’s one small change you can start today? Hack Your Health: An Algorithm to Better Energy | Paperback
